WNFC and Lockton Partner to Elevate Women in Tackle Football with Athlete Assistance Program

The Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) announces a groundbreaking partnership with Founders Series of Lockton Companies, LLC, the world’s largest privately held insurance brokerage, to introduce the league’s first-ever Athlete Assistance Program (AAP). This landmark initiative marks a significant step forward in supporting the women who compete in tackle football at the highest level.

Through AAP, all WNFC players and coaches will have access to comprehensive resources designed to enhance their well-being, both on and off the field. The AAP is being administered by CuraLinc Healthcare, a leading provider of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), trusted by over 4,600 leading employers worldwide. With CuraLinc’s expertise, WNFC athletes will receive high-quality, confidential support tailored to their unique needs. The program includes:

  • Short-term counseling

  • Coaching services

  • Work-life benefits

  • Critical Incident Response (CIR)

  • Training and development opportunities

As a digital-first program, the AAP underscores Lockton’s commitment to ensuring that WNFC athletes receive the holistic support they need as the league continues to advance women’s professional football.

"At the WNFC, our mission is to accelerate financial equity for women through the power of football, but we have to be real about how hard that road is. For women athletes, the mental strain of pursuing pro sports while often sacrificing income, stability, and time with family is immense. A recent Parity report found that 74% of women athletes held a job outside of their sport in 2023. When women choose to play football at the highest level, they often give up earning power, just to do what they love. That’s why the AAP is a powerful investment in women’s sports and a clear commitment to empowering our athletes. Access to critical resources isn’t a luxury, it’s a game-changer as we build the infrastructure for long-term financial growth, success, and athlete well-being,” said Odessa Jenkins, CEO of the WNFC. "This partnership was made possible by Dawn Sherman, whose leadership and investment in the WNFC continue to create more opportunities for the women in our league"

The partnership exemplifies a shared vision of creating lasting opportunities for women in professional sports while ensuring they have the necessary support to thrive athletically and personally.
