Washington, D.C. - The Washington Prodigy recently announced the appointment of LaMont Jordan as the new head coach. Jordan, a former NFL standout with over a decade of professional playing experience, brings knowledge and leadership to the Prodigy as they prepare for the 2025 WNFC season.
Jordan's illustrious career in football began at the University of Maryland, where he was a standout running back for the Terrapins. His talent led him to the NFL, where he was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2001 Draft. Throughout his NFL career, Jordan played for the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos. Following his playing career, he transitioned into coaching, including a stint as the running backs coach for the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) in 2019.
The Washington Prodigy, who captured the Atlantic Division title in 2024, has been a formidable force in the WNFC for the past five seasons. Despite their strong season, the team narrowly missed advancing to the Eastern Conference Championship, falling to the Atlanta Phoenix in the quarterfinals. With key offseason acquisitions and the addition of Coach Jordan, the Prodigy are well-positioned to challenge for the Eastern Conference title, currently held by the 2024 WNFC IX CUP Champions - Mississippi Panthers.
Under Jordan's leadership, the Prodigy aim to build on their recent success and make a strong push for the 2025 WNFC IX CUP. Fans and supporters can expect an exciting season as the team works to solidify its place among the league's top teams.
